NEW since May 2010 Area 47: The experience higlight by the entrance of the Ötztal!
At the entrance of the valley nature and high-tech combined to an extraordinary recreational experience for everyone. Whether outdoor adventure, event arena, water action, entertained dining or a stage for business incentives – the 6.5 ha location at the 47th latitude leaves nothing to be desired.
Outdoor Area
AREA 47 is a climbers' paradise for daredevils. You can clamber and balance 30 metres above the ground on the high rope course, test your physical limits on the giant climbing wall or fight the clock on one of the speed climbing routes. You’ll also find the perfect set-up for an exciting descent: swing across the Ötztaler Ache with the "Mega Swing"-liana or ride down the over 600 metre long "Flying Fox".
Outdoor fans who don’t mind getting wet will enjoy rafting or kayaking on the Ötztaler Ache and Inn rivers or canyoning through the picturesque gorges of the Ötztal mountains.
Water Area
A swimming lake with a sandy beach and a thrilling waterslide park, water trampolines and a diving platform, beach volleyball, beach soccer and basketball courts, a Venice Beach style gym – in its water world, AREA 47 presents what is probably the sportiest 20.000 sqm you’ll ever witness.
More spectacular moves can be pulled off at the boulder face suspended above water, during a balancing act on the "Slackline" or while racing down the tubing stream. Adrenaline junkies, who want to develop their jump skills, can try to land a creative stunt into the water on skis, on a snowboard or even on a bike when shooting down the water ramp.
The surf waves on the Ötztaler Ache and the Inn rivers are only the cherry on the top of the ultimate Water Area.
Food Area
Fun and adventure in abundance makes visitors hungry. Gourmets and fast food lovers alike can enjoy delicious meals on the sun terrace of the lakeside restaurant in the heart of AREA 47’s sporting facilities. The restaurant, which hosts up to 400 guests, offers all time favourites like Argentinian XXL Angus steaks from the traditional Parilla grill or the customized stone-baked pizza.
The River House, with a capacity of up to 400 people, is not only a trendy restaurant, but also the perfect setting for any kind of cabaret, arts and sports. From comedy and boxing to magicians or hip-hop bands, there are no bounds.
Those who seek some rest after an eventful day at AREA 47, will find some privacy in the chill out zone located at the confluence of the Ötztaler Ache and Inn rivers. On a sandy beach, visitors can enjoy camp-fire romance with guitar sound and cosy barbecues.
