A time travel through the Otztal!
The 3rd and 4th of August quite a few people were stunned by the amount of old cars and motorbikes on our streets. For the 9th time the vintage car race, the “Ötztal classics” took place! The route took the “Oldies” to Niederthai as well. We were happy to welcome the “race drivers” - as our pictures prove!
A star shaped route, which always took the racers back to Sölden, the villages Timmelsjoch, Vent, Hochsoelden, Gries and Niederthai had to be approached. The challenge: to go up and down the mountain in the same amount of time! The winner was Leopold UMSHAUS with a Mercedes 350 SL, year of construction 1973.
Quite a few celebrities – like the SOKO Kitzbühel police officer Kristina Sprenger, bike professional Georg Totschnig or the ex ski racer Patrick Ortlieb – turned out to be vintage car fans
