Insider tip for ski tour lovers
We start at 1.560 m, which means that the ideal starting point for numerous tours is right in front of our door.

The mountain „Breiter Grieskogel“ (3.287 m) is one of the most popular summits of the region.

Tip 2:

Hohe Wasserfalle/Hochreichkopf (starting point: Niederthai)

Difference in altitude/time:

Guben-Schweinfurter mountain hut (2.028 m): 500 m of altitude difference, 2 hours
Entire Tour: 1.470 m of altitude difference, 4-4,5 hours

The tours can be completed in one day, overnight stays at the Guben-Schweinfurter mountain hut are possible!

Ascent for both ski tours:

Next to the Horlachbach brook to the Klein-Horlachalm mountain hut - junction to the Finstertal valley

Hochreichkopf (3.010 m): after the Finstertal mountain hut stay on the valley floor. Ascent over the easter side of the cirque - over a steep snow chute you reach the summit of the Hochreichkopf mountain.

Hohe Wasserfalle (3.003 m): after the Finstertal mountain hut go up the steep hills on the left hand side - continue on the valley floor - over a moraine ridge into the Lange Wannenkar cirque. Over the summit hill with approx. 20 switchbacks you can almost reach the summit cross with your skis.
