On this tour it is important to take enough water with you, because there are hardly any natural water sources on the way to fill up the bottles.
Directly from the hotel you walk through the village and past the football field towards the Hemerachalm. The first hour is on a well-marked forest path, after which the path turns into a climb. The climb is steep and leads through the forest. Once you have reached the lower Hemerachalm, the trail continues to the upper Hemerachalm, where you are already at the tree line. From here the path continues steeply uphill directly to the cross. Once at the summit, you will be rewarded with a breath-taking view of Niederthai, Längenfeld, the valley floor and the surrounding 3000m peaks.
On the descent there are two options: either you go back via the Hemerachalm or you follow the ridge to the Grastalsee. From there it goes down through the Grastal valley about 1000 meters in altitude and back directly to the hotel.
