Hohe Wasserfalle
3.003 m
The ski tour up to the Hohe Wasserfalle is an absolute classic in the Stubai Alps, which ski tour lovers should definitely have experienced. A great somewhat winding ascent route with a steep summit slope and a fast downhill terrain awaits you.
First climb directly from the hotel up to the Schweinfurter hut. From there you will reach the Groß Horlachalm along the toboggan run briefly downhill. After a short forest section, you ascend to the Finstertaler Senn hut (2,147 m). In front of the Gaiskogel you follow the direction SW over already stepped terrain into the wide Wannenkar, which lies southeast of the Waterfall. Here you get a glimpse of the imposing summit destination and the final steep slope. When you reach your destination, you will be rewarded with a tremendous view.
The descent is the same as the ascent. If you take your skis with you to the summit, you can ski directly down from the summit in the second steep gully, which lies to the west of the first.
In poor visibility, an ascent is not recommended. In hard snow, crampons are advantageous for the ascent in the steep gully to the summit.
